Do Malawi citizens need a visa for India?
Malawian nationals must apply for an India visa in the same way that other nationals do. Every tourist needs a valid passport and a visa. An Indian e-visa is valid for one year from the date of issue. This means that travelers may enter India at any moment throughout the next year. Malawi nationals are allowed to leave and return several times, however, they can only stay in India for 90 days.
Passengers with a connecting flight do not need an Indian visa as long as they stay in the airport's transit area. For a short time, a visa is necessary solely for physical admission into the country.
Business travelers from Malawi can stay in India for up to 180 days, but medical tourists can only stay for 60 days.
There is little documentation required for a Malawian citizen to get an Indian visa. Indian immigration authorities want to know who is entering the country and why, and once identifying documents are submitted, an e-visa will most likely be approved.
The following documents are required to apply for an India e-visa:
- A recent, passport-sized photo of the applicant with a clean headshot was taken against a white backdrop.
- A current passport with at least a six-month expiration date. The passport should be scanned, ensuring that all relevant information is accessible.
- Credit and debit cards are acceptable modes of payment.
