What is the capital of India?

The capital of India is New Delhi, a vibrant city with a long history. It became the capital in 1931 when the British colonial government moved the city from Calcutta (now Kolkata) to a more central location.

The National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi includes New Delhi, which is located in northern India. It is among the world's biggest and most populous cities. British architects Herbert Baker and Sir Edwin Lutyens created the city's design. They constructed expansive government buildings, lovely gardens, and wide roads. The Supreme Court, Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's House), and numerous government offices are all located in New Delhi.

New Delhi is a center of culture and commerce in addition to politics. The Red Fort, India Gate, Qutub Minar, and Humayun's Tomb are just a few of the city's well-known historical landmarks and museums.

Despite its traffic and pollution problems, New Delhi remains a symbol of India’s history and progress. Millions of tourists and professionals come here every year to admire the blend of old traditions and modern developments.
