There are evident advantages for Beninese passport holders who apply for an India e-Visa rather than a standard visa:

The Indian e-Visa application is fully online, saving Beninese travelers time and money by eliminating the need to visit an embassy or consulate

The e-Visa is much easier to obtain than a traditional consular visa. The online form typically takes only 10–20 minutes to complete.

The only requirements for Beninese citizens are a valid passport, a debit card, clear scans of any required documents, and an email account. Once approved, Beninese travelers can simply print their e-Visa and travel to India within the permitted validity period.

Types of Indian e-Visa for Beninese residents

India has four major Indian e-Visa types:

  • India e-Business visa: utilized when planning a business trip to India for trading or similar objectives, but NOT for employment. This visa has a validity of 365 days from the date of grant of ETA, permitting multiple entries into the country.
  • India e-Conference visa: If you need to attend a conference organized by an Indian government ministry and held in India. You have up to 30 days to stay in India and one entrance time with this type to achieve your objectives.
  • India e-Medical visa: This type is the most appropriate for Beninese nationals who require medical treatment in India. The stay permitted is up to 60 days with triple entrances.
  • India Ayush visa: India's Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the development of a new visa category, the Ayush Visa, for foreign citizens who wish to visit the country for medical treatment, including therapeutic care, wellness, and yoga. The introduction of this special visa will be in line with introducing a special visa scheme for foreigners traveling to India for medical treatment through different channels. The India visa is valid for sixty days (60 days) from the date of arrival in India and allows triple entry.

Beninese applicants must submit their e-Tourist or e-Business visa applications at least four calendar days before their intended arrival in India.
