Who can travel to India without a visa?
The following nationalities do not need a visa to visit India:
- Bhutanese and Nepalese nationals do not require visas or passports to enter India, and they can live and work there without restriction.
They cannot, however, travel from or via mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Pakistan before entering India. Bhutanese or Nepalese visitors should return to their home country before entering India to avoid having to apply for a visa.
- Foreign nationals having a valid Overseas Citizen of India card or a Persons of Indian Origin Card are not required to get a visa and may live and work in India without limitation.
- Nationals of the Maldives do not require a visa to enter India for stays of up to 90 days.
