How to Take a Photography for the India e-Visa?

A digital picture that meets the Indian visa photo requirements is required for a successful India e-Visa application. To take a suitable photograph, follow these steps:

  • Find a brightly illuminated room with a white or light-colored background.
  • Remove any objects that obscure your face, such as hats and glasses.
  • Make sure your hair isn't in the way of your face.
  • Place yourself about half a meter away from the wall.
  • Directly face the camera, ensuring that the full head is visible from the hairline to the chin.
  • Check for shadows in the backdrop or on the subject's face, and remove any red-eye.
  • During the e-Visa application procedure, upload the photo.

Minors flying to India must submit a separate visa application with a digital image. Other requirements for an Indian e-Visa, in addition to providing an appropriate photo, include having a passport valid for at least six months from the arrival date, a debit or credit card for fee payment, an active email address, and accurate completion of the e-Visa form with personal and passport details.

Extra documents may be required for e-Business or e-Medical visas. Errors in the application or failing to satisfy photo standards may result in the visa application being rejected, causing travel difficulties.

Important Note: Individuals can submit a color or black-and-white image for the India e-Visa application, but it is critical that the photograph adequately depicts the applicant's characteristics regardless of color format.

Although the Indian government allows both color and black-and-white shots, color photos are preferred since they provide greater information and clarity. It is critical to underline that no computer program should be used to change the shot.
